Welcome Message and New Recruit Orientation

WELCOME to the Royal Air Corps! The Royal Air Corps was founded July 26 1998 by Captain Gunslinger in Red Baron II.  In March 1999 the squadron switched over to Red Baron 3D and the MMP (Massive Multiplayer Environment). The Royal Air Corps is an allied squadron that flies under honor rules. Our primary mission, of course, is to have fun and enjoy the game. We do have a few rules however (addressed in the Honor Lecture you will attend in the Recruiting Office) that govern how we fight.

After reading the honor lecture, you are invited to fill out an enlistment application.  Our Recruiting Officer will contact you within a day or two to acknowledge receipt of your application, which will be put before the Command Team for revue.  The requirements for acceptance are simple and are addressed in the honor lecture and on the recruit application page.  The vast majority of applications are approved after a couple of days.  If accepted you will receive a confirmation from the Recruiting Officer welcoming you to the squad.

As a new recruit you will be commissioned into the squadron with the rank of Warrant Officer.  You are expected to report for duty within a week or so of acceptance by posting a message on the message forum at this website.  The link to the Message Forums is on the Officer's Mess page that can be reached through the button on the menu to the left of this page.

After reporting for duty on the Message Forum you will be issued passwords to other areas of the site....you may have to serve for up to 30 days before gaining access to all areas of the site such as the WAR ROOM, etc.  It is important that you report for duty and post on the Message Forum because "no-show" recruits are assumed to be MIA and are deleted from the roster pretty quickly!

After joining you will have the benefit of Flight Training if you request it and will be eligible to participate in the many inter-squad wars and events we have scheduled.  The Royal Air Corps flies daily in the most popular NFM (Normal Fight Mode) Red Baron Servers (usually the RAC ISLC Server, JG1 server, HiE's, or PJ666) ....just look for the one with the most players in and that's usually where we are.  A few members can usually be found flying at just about any time of day....but the most popular time is in the late evenings (9:00pm - Midnight US Eastern time).

If you post what times you will be flying on the RECRUIT forum other RAC pilots will make every effort to join you and wing with you.  Having a wingman covering your tail will greatly increase your lifespan!

Any questions you may have can be asked on the Message Forums, or by emailing one of the Senior Officers (email links are in the "Radio Room").  You will always receive a prompt reply and helpful advice!  It is important that you post messages and fly regularly ...this will help all the other pilots to get to know you and help you integrate into the Squadron operations.  Remember promotion within the squadron is based primarily upon your level of participation, especially in organized inter-squad wars.

So with all that said, welcome to the Royal Air Corps. If you have any further questions, contact me via email. Thank you for your interest in the Royal Air Corps.

Colonel LilSparrow, Commanding Officer - Royal Air Corps.
