[R.A.C. Career Progression] [CO's Welcome to Recruits] [Return To Recruiting Office]
Conduct:
All pilots of the Royal Air Corps are expected to conduct themselves as follows:
RAC's honorable reputation belongs to the entire squad. Our reputation has been hard-earned by ALL of us. No RAC pilot has the right to discard our code at will, or apply it selectively. The bad actions of any one of us causes damage to the reputations of us all.
A kill is just a kill but "victory" is participating, enjoying the game, and the company of your squad mates and friends online. Promotion is judged primarily by your level of participation and commitment to the squad, not on your stats.
Treat all other participants in the game with respect. Never have fun at the expense of another.
Bad language and cursing on open or team chat is discouraged and may result in disciplinary action if complaints are received. Remember some RB players are young kids. A more tolerant view is taken of colorful language on squad chat channels and squad RW.
Be courteous to other pilots. Always try to "Salute" pilots who you shoot down AND those who shoot you down. If you get credit for a kill in which others assisted, acknowledge their help with "Salute Teamkill!". If you inadvertently steal someone else's kill...apologize ASAP with "Sorry, accidentally stole your kill". Taunting other players because their particular tactics do not suit your style of play is discouraged.....be courteous at all times.
When flying in privately operated public servers RAC pilots will observe ALL rules established by that server operator.
Rules of Engagement:
Fly as a team with other RAC when possible.
Attacking aircraft on the ground, or soon after take-off (vulching) is not acceptable unless we are engaged in a war scenario declared by the Command Staff and the war ROE permit it.
Rockets and bombs should only be used for ground attack, NOT during air-to-air combat. White smoke should never be used online in RB3D. All these effects have an adverse effect on some other player's frame rates.
If your plane catches fire you must "Start New Life" ASAP...NOT "Exit" (bail). Flamers cause the server to mass boot players if ridden too long and pilots who intentionally bail to avoid crediting the kill bring dishonor to the squad.
Honoring "No ammo" calls is at each pilots discretion. You should also not "expect" mercy from others if you make the mistake of running out of ammo. However, IF your opponent does let you go you should acknowledge their generosity. Do NOT single out enemy planes that are out of ammo, unless they expended it on you, or your squad mates.
Finishing off crippled enemy aircraft is OK if you have been the pursuer and caused most of the damage, or if they are still attacking. However targeting a crippled aircraft that escaped, or was "let go" by another player is discouraged. Intentionally stealing another pilot's kill by popping in the last couple of rounds to an obviously already doomed plane is unacceptable.
Stealing an enemy's kill of you by intentionally bailing to avoid the server recording it is also unacceptable.
Any pilot not following the Honor Code is subject to disciplinary action by the Commanding Officer and even possible dismissal from the Squadron. Any pilot caught cheating by using hacked Flight Models and/or Damage Models WILL be be dishonorably discharged from the Squadron immediately.
