Personal History:

Lil Sparrow writes:

"1957: did a variety of jobs.
"1961: joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps (Trained as a medical assistant and health inspector)
"Undertook all military courses with the infantry.
"Basic training - Royal Canadian Regiment
"NCO training - Canadian Guards
"WO school - West Coast Canadian Navy
"1981: retired and became a civilian public health inspector
"Lived in Kingston Ontario Canada for eight  years
"Has lived in Hamilton Ontario Canada ever since

"Is now retired.  Happily married
"Hobbies include golf, cross-country skiing, scotch, camping, biking, photography, more scotch . . . "

Lil Sparrow was RAC's commanding officer for a number of years and led the squadron with panache, enthusiasm and (when required) a cool head.  As one of the squadron's most experienced and successful pilots, he is feared in bomber or fighter.  Sparrow is also a tireless "unofficial training officer" and significant contributor to the squadron's war planning.  He is not quite the longest-serving active member of the squadron.

Lil Sparrow was a member of RAC's winning RBWL VI team in 2005 and contributed significantly to our efforts in 2006 to win War Forces and achieve third place in the World League competition of that year.

At the end of 2006, Sparrow retired from the squadron's command team but intends to continue as an active pilot both in Reb Baron and in IL2.
