Royal Air Corps Legion of Honor Awards

RAC Medal of Honor

 RAC's highest award, for extraordinary acts of self sacrifice or service on behalf of the Squadron.

RAC Legion of Honor

Awarded to a all RAC Pilots after induction into the RAC Legion of Honor by the Command Team.

Combat Awards

RAC Distinguished Flying Cross

Awarded for an outstanding record of combat success over a number of campaigns. (top 50% positive score over 3 or more campaigns)

RAC Silver Star

Awarded for an outstanding record of combat success over an entire campaign. (top 50% of positive scores)

RAC Bronze Star

Awarded for an good record of combat success over an entire campaign. (a positive score)

RAC Aerial Achievement Medal

Awarded for an outstanding record of combat success in a single battle. (3/1 fighter kill ratio or better for fighters and 8/1 points/death ratio, or better, for bombers.

Fighter (Ace) Proficiency Badge

Awarded by the Training Officer to those pilots who attend training and exhibit proficiency in basic fighter combat tactics.

 

Bomber Proficiency Badge

Awarded by the Training Officer to those pilots who attend training and exhibit proficiency in basic bomber combat tactics.

Advanced Fighter (Ace) Badge

Awarded by the Training Officer to those pilots who attend training and exhibit proficiency in advanced fighter combat tactics.

 

Advanced Bomber Badge

Awarded by the Training Officer to those pilots who attend training and exhibit proficiency in advanced bomber combat tactics.

Combat Fighter (Ace) Badge

Awarded by the Command Team to pilots who exhibit excellent air combat skills over a number of campaigns.

 

Combat Bomber Badge

Awarded by the Command Team to pilots who exhibit excellent bombing skills over a number of campaigns.

 

NightFighter Badge

Awarded by the Command Team to recognize the commitment of those pilots who consistently participate in war events at  unfavorable local times. (event begins or ends between 2-7am local time)

 

Flight Leader Pennant

Awarded by the Command Team to Flight Leaders who have led successful flights in war events a number of times.

 

Service Awards

RAC Distinguished Service Cross

Awarded for an outstanding record of non-combat service to the Squadron over a long period of time..

RAC Commendation Medal

Awarded for an outstanding record of non-combat service to the Squadron over a period of time..

RAC Achievement Medal

Awarded for a specific non-combat act, or achievement that has benefited the Squadron.

RAC Defence Medal

Awarded to a pilot who has upheld and defended the honor and reputation of the Squadron when under attack from hostile forces.

Inter Squadron Combat Awards

RAC Medal of Gallantry

Awarded to pilots of RAC or any other squadron that have performed specific acts of gallantry involving RAC pilots while under fire.

RAC Joint Combat Medal

Awarded to pilots of other squadrons, in recognition of excellent teamwork and achievement, while allied with RAC in declared war events.

Long Service Ribbon awarded after 12 months service.  (Center vertical stripes indicate number of years service

Red Baron II Ribbon awarded to all RAC veterans who flew in RBII before the transition to RB3D

Campaign & Battle Ribbons

GAF War Service Ribbon -  RB2 German Air Force campaign July 1998 - September 1998.  RAC Victory

GT War Service Ribbon -  RB2 Gallant Talons campaign November 1998.  RAC Defeated

Great War II Ribbon - RB3D Great War 2 campaign April 1999. Allied Victory

Red Dragons War  Ribbon -  Red Dragons campaign August 1999.  RAC Victory

BB Conflict Ribbon - RB2/RB3D Barry's Bastards Conflict September 1998 - July 1999.  RAC Victory

Hunters of the Sky 1 War Ribbon - February 2000 - March 2000. RAC/RAF209 vs Rebells.

Bloody April War Ribbon - Awarded to RAC veterans during the RB3D H.O.S.2 war against the Rebells April 8, 2000 and April 28, 2000.

J9 War Service Ribbon - J9 two day battle in "Hunters of the Sky 3 Aerial Conflict" April 15, 2000 and June 10, 2000.  RAC Victory

J43/KDF War Service Ribbon - Awarded to RAC veterans during the battle in "Hunters of the Sky Aerial Conflict" May 27, 2000.

Southern France Expeditionary War Ribbon -  8 day campaign against J9/J43/Misfits/PC69 July 29, 2000 - August 26, 2000.

War Forces Ribbon - 16 week campaign from August 2000 - December, 2000. Teamed with RAC were RAF56.  Allied Victory

Battle for Devil's Island Ribbon - vs US103 on April 29, 2001.  RAC Victory

J9 Rabbit War Ribbon - June 2001

RAC Victory

Red Baron World League 2001 - August - September 2001. Teamed with AK, RAC reached the finals and was narrowly beaten by RAF209

"Oh, What a Lovely War - 1" RAC vs RAF

October 2001 to January 2002

RAF win on points, RAC win 5/8 scenarios

Red Baron World League 2002 - March - September 2002. RAC were second highest scoring allied team and reached the final playoffs. 

War Forces Ribbon 2002 - 12 week campaign from October 2002 to January 2003. Teamed with RAC were AK.  Hun Victory

Red Baron World League 2003 - April - November 2003.  RAC reached the playoffs and finished in 3rd place.

War Forces Ribbon 2003 - 12 week campaign from December 2003 to March 2004. Teamed with RAC were PJ666.  Allied Victory

Red Baron World League 2004 - April - November 2004.  RAC reached the playoffs and finished in 4th place.
War Forces Ribbon 2004 - 12 week campaign  We flew HUN teamed with RAC were PJ666.  Victory! Red Baron World League 2005 - May - December 2005.  RAC maintains first place throughout the season and wins the final Playoffs!
